Most seniors, when given the choice between aging at home in a familiar environment and being placed in an Assisted Living Facility or nursing home, prefer to remain in their homes. According to scientific evidence, people perform and heal best at home. Giving seniors extra help is one way to keep them in their homes for as long as possible. While we cannot reverse the aging process, we can make it better by providing necessary and critical elder care services that allow people to remain in their homes.

I am Crystal Massenburg and I have come to learn the majority of today’s seniors are unable to age in place due to a lack of appropriate support services. When a parent reaches a particular age and becomes medically frail, it is common for their children to be left to care for them. This is a difficult task for many members of the Sandwich Generation, who are juggling raising their own families while working full-time jobs, as well as caring for aging parents (s).This is something I’ve personally witnessed. Before they died a few years ago, I had to care for both of my parents. It was extremely challenging, but I’m glad I persevered. My life, and I’m sure theirs, would have been so much easier if I could have phoned a Senior Care Agency like At Home Eldercare Durham. Instead, I gave it my all, despite the fact that even as a health-care professional, I found it challenging. At Home Eldercare can help your loved one by providing world-class elder care services.
Crystals interest in caring for seniors started even before she graduated high school. Her lovely mother encouraged her to serve the senior population! Growing up, Crystals mom was frequently ill and needed assistance, which led Crystal to take Health Science classes throughout high school. By the time she graduated, she was already a Certified Nursing Assistant! Upon graduation she quickly became an advocate for seniors and was serving men and women from all different walks of life.
Serving seniors helped her realize that people like herself were needed to operate great home care agencies. Crystal worked part time as a CNA in home care, hospitals, assisted livings, & nursing homes for 17+ years. She was so driven to work in health care that she decided to pursue phlebotomy which ultimately led to 13 years full time work at a dialysis clinic. Serving mostly a senior population, she took her CNA skills, coupled them with her phlebotomy experience, and was quickly recognized as one of the most outstanding technicians appreciated both by patients and senior management alike. She did so well that she was later promoted to office manager!
At that time she had no idea what the next 5 years of her life would consist of, but she knew GOD was calling her to do more and that owning a home care agency was still an unrecognized dream. Crystal has 3 sons… Jaevian, and the twins Jamari & Kaden. When she is not running her business, or focusing on the kids, she enjoys online shopping, screen printing, & surfing the web in addition to serving, giving, & helping others!
